The eco-friendly Chelsea Green condo building at 151 West 21st Street has just started to rise from the ground, but construction on the site has allegedly been causing major issues for a neighbor since last year. The Real Deal reports that the owner of the five-story building at 145 West 21st Street is suing Chelsea Green developer Alfa Development for damage to her property.
The owner, photojournalist Lili Almog, claims that debris from the site has damaged her roof and chimney, and water leaking from the site is causing mold in her basement studio. The problems have been so bad that two of her tenants would not renew their leases. She's seeking $4 million in damages, plus a restraining order. They go before the supreme court today.
