Things pop artist Jeff Koons is known for: giant balloon animals, proposing to hang a locomotives over the High Line, and the Tappan Zee Bridge? Koons has been tapped by Governor Cuomo to review designs for a new Tappan Zee to ensure the structure will "live up to the beauty and splendor of the Hudson River." Architect Richard Meier and the Met Museum director are also involved, so the bridge probably won't be covered in balloons. [NYT]
