33 Developers Want to Create NYC's Micro Apartment

New, 8 comments

Quite a few people are interested in Mayor Bloomberg's micro apartments?or at least quite a few people are interested in developing them. A total of 33 developers submitted plans to the Mayor's adAPT NYC design competition, which tasked entrants with designing a rental building compose of micro units averaging 275-300 square feet. The 50-unit building is destined for a city-owned Kips Bay site, and certain zoning regulations would be waived.

So who applied? The Durst Organization, a partnership including Jonathan Rose Cos., Treehugger's Graham Hill (who is no stranger to small apartments), Blesso Properties, and a partnership of Ron Moelis's L+M Development Partners and Romy Goldman's Gold Development, according to the Journal.
