A contract indicates that the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church on East 12th Street near Avenue A has sold for $41 million. And the buyer might just possibly be Douglas Steiner, owner of the Brooklyn Navy Yard's Steiner Studios. Steiner has hinted that he has plans for a 100-unit residential building (luxury residential, natch) somewhere south of 23rd Street, so perhaps this clue goes with that one.
