Yet Another $95M Listing Hits the Market on the UES

New, 11 comments

It's becoming almost routine: oh, look, another $95 million listing. Still, it's out there, so we've gotta say it. There's a new $95 million listing in town, and this time it's the 18th-floor of the Sherry-Netherland, a co-op that's seen some high sale prices but nothing nearly in that realm. (The next most-expensive listing in the building right now is a $19.5 million 5BR.) There's no official listing online yet, so all we know is what the Times tells us. The 7BR apartment has 7,000 interior square feet and another 2,000 square feet of outdoor space, plus the always-necessary staff rooms on other floors of the building. The commission is enough to get two brokers to the stars, Kathy Sloane and Dolly Lenz, to join forces, which might be the most surprising aspect of this apartment.

The apartment's features themselves don't seem especially unusual for a high-end place?there's a wet bar in the library, a solarium, a terrace off the master bedroom, and a guest suite. "Two sweeping terraces run the width and the length of the apartment at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 59th Street," according to the Times?which, setting cynicism aside for the moment, does sound nice. The owner, Gilbert Haroche, bought up the floor gradually and then did a two-year renovation.
?We've removed the apartment photo at the request of the photographer. We'll update once the listing photos come online.
