An Upper East Side townhouse that was listed for $20,000,000 sold for $16,000,000 this week, and it was lucky to get even that as it "has weathered the burden of an ugly duckling reputation," according to the Times. The six-story house's exterior features a limestone and brick facade and a pillared entrance, while the interiors were "a horror," as described by its previous owner. (Although he apparently rectified the situation, there are still no interior photos to be found.) The buyer is a limited-liability company who, as far as the broker can tell, "intend to move into it as is." [NYT]
