Artists are taking to the streets this weekend in Bushwick, and they want you to join them. Part nocturnal art walk, part communal public festival, Citydrift invites you to "drift" through the community, finding art in exterior, unexpected places. Peter Hopkins of the Bogart Salon concocted the idea, which he hopes will highlight the natural art of overlooked city nooks like alleys, stairways, and empty lots. Several Bushwick galleries will serve as starting points for the drifters (so you don't have to wander aimlessly alone), and there will be panel discussions on the 8th and 9th. We're not sure if we entirely understand the concept, but it sounds interesting and who knows, it might lead to some existential, metaphysical art experience that will transform your life. Or you may just wander through the dark and see some hipsters.
You can get all of the details on Citydrift's rather abstract Kickstarter page, where the project is trying to raise $3,000 to enable the idea to spread to other cities.
