Decoded: The Most 'Magical' of Apartment Listings

New, 2 comments

Welcome back to The Brokerbabble Glossary, where we take a word or a turn of phrase that seems to show up in an unreasonable number of listings and decipher its true meaning. If you have any ideas for us, send them to the tipline. Today's word: Magical.

Weirdly enough, brokers seem to take the word "magical" pretty seriously insofar as almost all the listings containing that word are for legitimately nice apartments. You can describe any old place as resplendent, or dramatic, or exquisite, but if you're going to say that something is magical, you'd better mean it. The thing is, they never say what kind of magical a place is. The Upper East Side co-op pictured above may be magical, but that magic is definitely of the dark variety, like it was once inhabited by a rich werewolf and he left all his furnishings behind. No wonder it's been on the market for almost a year.

Lenox Hill. Who knew?

Nah, dude, that's just science. Somebody get this guy a copy of The Way Things Work.

This one we actually might be willing to believe. Especially because it's in Lenox Hill.
