What $3,600 Can Rent You Around New York City

New, 11 comments

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various New York City neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $3,600/month.

? In the East Village, $3,500/month can rent you a relatively spacious (630 square feet), very white 1BR on the 12th floor. It's right next to Tompkins Square Park and looks very nice.

? In Nolita, this 6th floor walkup is available for $3,500/month and is described as a "penthouse." We're not sure about that, but it does have two bedrooms and lots of exposed brick. There is also, apparently, a "massive super." Good to know.

? There are probably more windows than walls in the apartments of Clinton Hill's The Collection, which, frankly, look great. A 2BR, 2BA with a balcony goes for $3,527/month with no fee, and the building has lots of amenities.

? In East Harlem, a 1,200-square-foot 3BR, 2BA is available for $3,500/month. It comes with a washer/dryer and a private keyed elevator and can be furnished for $100/month.

? In Williamsburg, this 1,150-square-foot loft is available for $3,525/month in a building that includes a gym, courtyard, and roofdeck.

? And, finally, in West Chelsea, this 1BR in a full-service building has a decent-sized living room and a pretty tiny windowless bedroom. It costs $3,600/month.
