New York YIMBY has photos of the just unveiled Peter Poon hotel at 307 West 37th Street, and, damn, is it ugly. There is a serious lack of windows on all sides, and the front is "bifurcated by what appears to be an enormous fruit roll-up." Gene Kaufman's hotel at 312 West 37th is just across the street, and Poon's is so terrible that it actually makes Kaufman's look good. The base of 307 is still shrouded, but we're not holding out for an architectural icon. When it's complete, this will be a Courtyard by Marriott filled with dark, windowless rooms.
