The United States Tennis Association is looking for another 0.68 acres of parkland on which to expand the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and given that public court rentals are available there and qualify the center as public space, the USTA will probably be able to get that space from the Parks Department. Not only that, but the Parks Department technically won't need to replace the parkland with parkland elsewhere. With other projects planned for the park's corners, Flushing Meadows Corona Park is perhaps particularly endangered at the moment. [Capital]
