The Parks Department has started a $930,000 construction project in McCarren Park that is meant to drain a giant puddle that's a constant presence along North 12th Street between Driggs and Bedford Avenues. The mini body of water is semi-affectionately known as "Hipster Lake," and it's caused by clogged drains, which the makeover will fix. Work should wrap up this summer. [DNAinfo]
