When David Byrne of the Talking Heads isn't busy speaking from a giant globe under the High Line, he sometimes designs "hipster" bike racks. Unfortunately, the Public Design Commission doesn't always like Byrne's bike racks?they rejected two of them in 2008, as DNAinfo points out?and Byrne must face them again with his latest design, a couple of alphabet-shaped racks that were set up outside the Brooklyn Academy of Music back in August but must receive Community Board 2 and design commission approval to become permanent additions. These racks are shaped like letters and can be shifted to spell out different words. The design commission has questioned Byrne's taste, so nobody spell anything bad until after the commission meets, 'kay?
