Subway Safety

New, 15 comments

As subway deaths continue to increase, safety measures are becoming a bigger priority for the MTA. Sliding platform doors would cost millions of dollars and be years away from implementation, so alternative ideas are being discussed. One suggestion is to install sensors capable of detecting obstructions on the tracks, but that doesn't seem like it would help much if someone suddenly falls or is shoved off the platform.
