East River Park could soon have a new feature: a natural wetland. The Lower East Side Ecology Center has been working on the project for more than two years, and they hope to build the $1 million wetland using gravel and native plants. The ecosystem would filter the river water and provide food and shelter for birds. The Center goes before CB3 next week in hopes of gaining the community's support. [DNAinfo]
