Following in the footsteps of Two Trees, which gifted free wireless to the people of Dumbo, Google will bestow free WiFi on a section of Chelsea and MePa between West 19th Street, Gansevoort Street, Eighth Avenue, and the High Line. The WiFi will work in public and outdoor spaces, but not inside residences. So maybe people walking the High Line will now stare at their smartphones instead of into all those High Line-lining glassy buildings. [NYDN]
