Despite having completed significant construction in the old Metro Theater, the Alamo Drafthouse will not be opening a new five-screen theater at the venue. Since beginning work last year, the company says that construction costs have "risen tremendously," in part because of Hurricane Sandy reconstruction, and the project is no longer financially feasible for them.
