The New York State Supreme Court ruling that Mayor Bloomberg exceeded his authority by decreeing the new Nissan NV200 to be the only taxi that owners could purchase leaves the city's taxi population in a Game of Thrones-type situation. Which will emerge as the new iconic New York City taxi, replacing the Ford Crown Victoria, whose days are numbered? Will it be a pair of young Toyota hybrids? Or the Ford C-Max Hybrid? Or will the failed usurper, the NV200, licking its wounds and plotting revenge, make another run at the throne? Only time will tell. [NYT; previously]
