A big site on 125th Street between Fifth and Lenox has been in construction purgatory for years, with question marks around its future use: would it be a luxury hotel, a chain hotel, or offices? A reader tipped off Harlem Bespoke that plans have changed yet again to include three floors of retail at the bottom of the building with four stories of rental apartments above. That dovetails with the recent amendment to the new building plans filed with the DOB: an earlier permit application proposes about 100,000 square feet of purely commercial space over four stories; the most recent documents show 75K square feet of commercial and 25K of residential over six stories. Chalk up yet another project for fast-changing 125th Street. [HB; previously]
