With four days to go, Made in the Lower East Side has reached only $12,781 of its $32,000 Kickstarter funding goal. The organization (also known as miLES) hopes to use the money to create the miLES Storefront Transformer, which would produce seven pop-ups in vacant storefronts in November and December. The Storefront Transformer itself is a six-foot cube filled with furnishings, a stage, electronics, and other things a pop-up store might need. [Kickstarter; previously]
