Village Garage-Turned-Condo Will Hit Market Next Month

New, 10 comments

A former parking garage at 12 East 13th Street is in the midst of a condo transformation after selling last year for $32 million, and developers DHA Capital and Continental Properties will bring the project to market next month. The Journal has the preliminary details on the building, which will have, following the all-luxury, all-the-time tendency of Manhattan new development these days, eight large units, ranging in size from 2,800 square feet to 5,600 square feet. Prices will go from $7,500,000 to $28,500,000. All units will get at least one private storage unit and an automated parking space, and the building will also have a gym and bike storage, of course.

The 1930 structure was originally only eight stories tall, and since the building will include a triplex and a duplex, a few more stories are needed. The developers will add four and give the building a new facade of elongated bricks to allow for wider windows. (The design and interiors are by CetraRuddy.) The building should be done in spring 2015; in the meantime, there's a teaser site.
