The Journal breaks down the fight over the boardwalk in the Rockaways, which still hasn't been repaired after Hurricane Sandy?and which probably won't be done in time for next summer's beach season, either. Some Rockaways residents would prefer a wooden boardwalk to the city's proposed concrete; others have asked that the Rockaways get a sea wall for storm protection. The city, meanwhile, wants a new boardwalk that is up to seven feet higher than the old one, with a concrete barrier underneath and new, 16-foot-tall dunes on Rockaway Beach. [WSJ; previously]
