When they left their Manhattan loft, Amy Gropp Forbes and Adam Forbes opted for a townhouse on Second Street in Park Slope. The look of the place?all original woodwork painted white?appealed to their interest in combining an older brownstone look with modern design. Their home is profiled in a new book out next week, Design Brooklyn?along with projects like Mike D's townhouse and Jane's Carousel?and Apartment Therapy has some pics.
The Forbes's had to do some major work on the plumbing and electrical systems, and they took the opportunity to move the kitchen from the first floor to the third to take advantage of the direct sunlight on the third floor. The decor is partly inspired by Forbes's father's collection of mid-century modern furniture and her mother's crafts work.
