A tipster with knowledge of the building tells us the buyer in contract on the place is none other than Drew Barrymore (who happened to appear in a comedy about a New York City duplex in 2003). Barrymore had toured a few apartments in the building; this particular one was asking $8.3 million. One floor includes a gallery, living room, dining room/library, breakfast room, and one bedroom. The other three bedrooms and a sitting room and dressing room occupy the top level. Nothing stands out about the floorplan, but there are no glaring omissions or negatives, either.
And for anyone who's sad to have missed out on this particular apartment, another duplex in the building has just hit the market for $8.65 million, this one making its first for-sale appearance in close to 50 years.
