215 Sullivan Gets Signage; Reno Planned for 920 Broadway

GREENWICH VILLAGE?The former Children's Aid Society building at 215 Sullivan Street is on its way to becoming condos, and construction scaffolding recently went up at the site. But this isn't any old construction signage. Broad Street Development jazzed it up a bit with a visual shout-out to the building's gabled roof, which, reps tell us, "will be a big design element of the project." The historic building, originally designed by Calvert Vaux (a man better know around New York for his work on parks), will be expanded with new construction to create 25 units. FLATIRON DISTRICT?Earlier this year, the Carlyle Group and ClearRock Properties purchased three commercial buildings from Yeshiva University, and they have announced renovation plans for the 16-story property at 920 Broadway. The $10 million project will restore the historic facade, redesign the lobby, create a new reception desk, and add all new finishes. The highlight will be "an open feature stair" with a minimal design that "transforms what was previously a purely functional requirement into an anchor for the space." [CurbedWire Inbox]
