Bill De Blasio Is My Landlord

New, 34 comments

Current and past tenants of the rental property owned by mayor-to-be Bill de Blasio and his wife Chirlane McCray have, it must be said, very little landlord beef. From informal interviews with tea and cookies at the couple's townhouse 500 feet away to sending repair personnel within 24 hours of a complaint, the public advocate appears to be the virtual opposite of the slumlords he's targeted over the years. He even wrote reference letters. Said one resident of two-unit 384 11th Street in the Slope: "Come winter, Mr. de Blasio would stop by to shovel snow and sprinkle salt over ice, or would send Dante in his stead." Wait, what was that about a conflict of interest? [NYT; previously]
