Work Begins at 30 Park Place; Rockaways Landlords Want Biz

New, 9 comments

FINANCIAL DISTRICT?Developer Larry Silverstein's languishing 30 Park Place (previously known as 99 Church Street) finally received building permits earlier this month. A tipster sends word (and visual evidence!) that work has begun at the site. Ultimately, the Robert A.M. Stern-designed building will rise to 937 feet and 67 stories. The space will be split between a 149-room Four Seasons Hotel and a 161-unit condo. Look for the prices on those condos to go up to about $34 million. [CurbedWire Inbox]

THE ROCKAWAYS?The newish merchants' association at Beach 116th Street in the Rockaways is still working to rebuild the area commercially a year after the storm. This Saturday, the association will be holding Rolling Up the Gates, an event at which property owners will be showing off vacant commercial spaces that are available for lease. The event begins at 231 Beach 116th Street this Saturday, November 2, at 11 a.m.. [CurbedWire Inbox]
