Effective immediately, Curbed NY is on the hunt for a full-time associate editor to join our growing team at the HQ here in New York. Interested? Read on.
First, you need to live in New York City and, at some deep level, love New York City, because the work involves daily blogging about the areas, characters, and built environment that make New York New York. It's not necessary that you be some sort of real estate expert. Instead, we're hoping to find someone obsessed with some combination of the ins and outs of neighborhoods, architecture, design, parks, photography, history, urban planning, the High Line, the Gowanus Canal, and Battery Park City's wild turkeys, to name a few core obsessions. Interest in social media—e.g., you use Twitter and enjoy it—is also a plus, as the gig involves a few responsibilities in that sphere. The job is full-time, salary is commensurate with experience, and there are health benefits and a 401(k).
To apply, e-mail email@example.com with the subject line "Curbed NY Associate Editor"; include a paragraph about yourself and a paragraph about why you're interested. If you've got a blog, Tumblr, Twitter handle, or Pinterest board, kick the links to all and sundry our way, too. If we like what we see, we'll follow up quickly. Thanks.
