Walker Tower PH's $50M+ Sale Set To Break Downtown Record

New, 32 comments

Popular conversion Walker Tower attempted to set a downtown record by listing one of its penthouses for $55 million, and, yep, it looks like they did it. Building reps say 6,000-square-foot 5BR/5.5BA unit, which occupies the entire top floor of the building and will be move-in ready by the end of the year, is in contract for "more than $50 million."

And while we still don't know the exact figure (according to the NYT, it's "slightly less than ask"), it is certainly going to unseat the current record-holder: the $42 million penthouse at 18 Gramercy Park, which sold to Houston Rockets owner Leslie Alexander. Oh yeah, and there's that 56 Leonard penthouse, which went into contract for $47 million. Forget them. Penthouse One has 360-degree views, 479 square feet of terrace space, heated flooring, and monthly fees of just over $9,000. Walker Tower currently has three other (much cheaper) units for sale.
