The Brooklyn Nets will no longer have to suffer through practices across the river in New Jersey. The team announced plans to construct a $50 million training facility on the top floor of an industrial waterfront building in Sunset Park's 16-building Industry City complex, which has attracted a variety of new tenants recently. Nets Daily described the move as another sign of franchise owner Mikhail Prokhorov's "willingness to spend extraordinary amounts of money on the team." UPDATE: Reps for Industry City reached out to say that the Nets moving to the complex is not a sure thing. "Any report of an agreement to have the Nets come to Industry City would be inaccurate."
