Neighborhood Beefs

Developer HFZ Capital wants to build extra floors atop landmarked Upper West Side building The Chatsworth, and (needless to say) residents are mobilizing against the idea. Ziel Feldman bought the building earlier this year for $150 million, because apparently UWS properties are good, albeit low-return, investments, and for now it's still a rental. Judging by neighbors' heated opposition to the four penthouses proposed for the top of the Apthorp, community board approval seems unlikely. We'll know more (and hopefully get some renderings) after CB 7's preservation subcommittee meets on Thursday. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
