Cornerspotted: Broadway And 30th Street In Astoria

New, 3 comments

Five minutes. That's how long it took Curbed reader pgk to identify this street corner as Broadway and 30th Street in Astoria, Queens. The elevated train and trolley wires threw off Cornerspotter expert Ferryboi, who thought the street was in the Bronx. The photo was taken in June 1925, the same year the white buildings were constructed between 31st and 30th Streets. At the time, 31st Street was known as 2nd Avenue, which is how the Museum of the City of New York identifies the photo in its archives.
