A purple velvet couch. Columns wrapped in shiny red fabric. Glittery red and gold chandeliers with fake candles. These are not things one expects to find in a glass box condo in the building formerly known as One Madison Park, but, oh, what do we have here? This chintzed-out 16th floor home is the first full-floor resale in One Madison, and it just hit the market for $9.75 million. The owners, identified in public city documents as Roman Klimenko and Natalia Vyacheslavovna Potapova, closed on the place for a discounted $5.1 million (it was listed for $6.9M) in November 2009, around the same time things really started unraveling for the building.
The 3BR/3.5BA home is one of only seven in the building with a private terrace, which wraps around two sides of the unit. The brokerbabble notes the interior is designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, so the owners didn't make that many changes since he did the whole building?although those chandeliers were probably not Juul-Hansen's choice.
