Opponents of the New York City Housing Authority's controversial, Bloomberg-endorsed plan to lease public land to private developers will soon have their day in court. On Tuesday, the Urban Justice Center and other groups—including the resident associations of several public developments that would be affected—will file a lawsuit against the NYCHA in the state Supreme Court. Lawyers will argue that the NYCHA failed to conduct environmental and flood plan analyses and that the agency did not gain proper legislative approval, all in an attempt to block the program from moving forward.
