Human Remains Under City Hall; 182 West 82nd St. 50% Sold

CIVIC CENTER—While doing excavations for the ongoing rehabilitation of City Hall, workers uncovered fragmentary human remains dating back to the 18th century. According to the Park Commissioner, "Multiple 18th century burial grounds once existed in the vicinity of City Hall Park," which makes this particular uncovering of human remains less exciting than usual. The remains, which were too small to analyze in any meaningful way, were reburied and today members of the board of directors of A Partnership of Faith presided over the unveiling of a marker at the northeast end of City Hall Park to commemorate them.
