In the Rezone

New, 19 comments

Unsurprisingly, the rezoning of a 73-block swath of Midtown East remains fraught with controversy. The Times editorial board is urging the City Council to wait on approval until it can introduce amendments that would address major issues with the plan that relate to transit, air rights, public space, and preservation. Meanwhile, Crain's published an op-ed by Regional Plan Association president Robert Yaro with the headline "Council Must Rezone Midtown East Now." Over to you, Council. [NYT & Crain's; previously]
