A pair of industrial warehouses on Third Street between Bond and Hoyt Streets in Gowanus are headed for a commercial makeover. Developer LIVWRK, created by Aaron Lemma and Asher Abesera, plans to adaptively reuse the properties at 68 and 80 Third Street as an 80,000-square-foot retail complex with small-scale shops. The upper floors of no. 80, which rises four stories, would be turned into boutique office space. The site is just across the Gowanus Canal from the new Whole Foods. [NYDN; LIVWRK]
