WILLIAMSBURG—The McCarren Park Ice Rink had its opening ceremony today, with Williamsburg legend Pat Kiernan presiding. A figure skater performed, and everyone looks very happy that the North Brooklyn ice drought has drawn to a close. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

CONEY ISLAND—Add Coney Island Creek to the list of New York waterways that have killed a dolphin (the Newtown Creek dolphin of 2010 survived). A dolphin that swam into the creek yesterday afternoon turned up dead this morning. The Department of Environmental Conservation removed it from the water and handed it over to the Riverhead Foundation, who will perform an autopsy. [Brooklyn Paper]
