Seven years after the initial Atlantic Yards agreement, it's no secret that Forest City Ratner has yet to deliver on its pledged 2,250 affordable housing units. While local pols are justifiably getting pissed off, when it comes to criticizing mayor-elect de Blasio on his relative silence on the issue, they seem . . . well, reluctant. At yesterday's rally protesting the project's sale to a Chinese contractor, Assemblyman James Brennan was asked whether de Blasio should have been more vocal about the developer's inaction, to which he curtly replied, "No." A long, awkward silence followed, along with "chuckles and anxious smiles," and it's probably worth noting that de Blasio accepted $73,000 in campaign contributions from Forest City Ratner in the run up to the mayoral election.
