182 West 82nd Street launched sales a month ago, and already six of the building's 11 units are in contract, while a seventh has a contract out. One of the in-contract units, a penthouse (there are two; the other is still available), is being purchased by Miki Naftali, chairman and chief executive of the Naftali Group, the project's developer. As such, Naftali made sure that the apartments were up to a standard that he himself could enjoy, according to Stribling's Alexa Lambert, who gave us a tour of the sales office. The kitchens feature a six-burner stove, two ovens, a wine chiller, and a microwave with a button that makes it pop out like a drawer (all Viking; the fridge is Sub-Zero), as well as a marble slab island and more marble all around the sink and stove. Some of ODA Architects' more modern designs, such as the molding around the cabinets, were toned down over the course of the design process in order to make them fit in better on the Upper West Side.
The bathrooms, in addition to being quite large, feature freestanding tubs, showers with four heads—two removable and two overhead—and heated floors. Each unit has its own AC unit on the roof and there's also a gym in the basement, private storage, a full-time super, and a 24-hour doorman—a real luxury for such a small building. The common charges are around $2 per square foot. The four units that are still available include the other penthouse, asking $5.25 million, a 3BR for $4.595 million, and two 4BRs for $5.225 million and $5.295 million.
