As if Hudson River Park's financial and political woes weren't drama-addled enough, HRP Trust president Madelyn Wils is embroiled in another legal battle: this time with her own tenant. Wils and her husband are suing Marla Mase, who has leased a rent-stabilized Tribeca loft from the couple, who live one floor up, for the last 30 years, in order to evict her and gain back $30,000 in back rent and legal fees. Mase, who pays $1,000/month, and her lawyer say it's not within their rights to dislocate a rent-stabilized tenant. Meanwhile, the Wilses' lawyer stresses that they need to reclaim the apartment for their son, a recent college graduate, not because they want to charge market rate for it. Yup, beef. [DNAinfo]
