One Vandam's Triplex Topper Wants $28M As Other Units Sell

New, 9 comments

Sales launched for glass-and-limestone development One Vandam back in October, and at this point building reps report that 11 contracts are either signed or out for signing, meaning in real English that apartments in the 25-unit building on Sixth Avenue between Spring and Prince are 40 percent taken. But you know what is available? The $28 million triplex penthouse, which hit the market yesterday.

The 4BR/5.5BA Penthouse A is the largest of the building's three penthouses. The centerpiece of the triplex is a giant staircase that can be seen through the glass facade. Plus there are three wood-burning fireplaces, a private elevator, and almost 2,000 square feet of outdoor space that include (alongside a catering kitchen and "rooftop entertaining room") an outdoor fireplace, sunken outdoor spa, and outdoor shower. The building's second penthouse, a 3,400-square-foot duplex with three terraces, has been on the market a month and is asking a song by comparison: $15M. Interiors are bespoke, and amenities are comprehensive. Closings estimated to begin in the spring of 2015. Amazing what a little air rights magic can do, right?
