When it comes to buying high-end real estate in New York City, "Chinese are the new Russians," superbroker Dolly Lenz told CNBC this morning. (Not like Chinese buyers have been poking around with NYC property since at least 2009 or for the last 20 years or anything.) Lenz, an apparent expert on courting the Chinese, analyzes her clients as if they were "the other" in some anthropological case study: "Chinese like tangible assets, hard assets. Diamonds, art, real estate. They feel if they can see it and touch it, it's much more real to them." For these customers, does she also throw in the cost of a feng shui redo? [CNBC via TRD]
