Last night, the Land Use Committee of Brooklyn's Community Board 1 voted to support Two Trees' redevelopment plans for the Domino Sugar Factorydespite the very vocal opposition. Clearly a large part of the community supports the plans, even if they would like to see more affordable housing. During the meeting, Two Trees reinforced its promise for 660 affordable units at a range of income levels. The next step will be a vote from the full community board on December 10. The old plan, for comparison, was rejected in a 23-12 vote back in 2010. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]
