Two rather traditional Harlem townhouses went under the knife some sharp construction tool, and ended up looking, well, not so traditional. The futuristic townhouse with a rather glassy top floor is finally complete (click for big). Check out a before-and-after shot of 71-73 West 116th Street to see what it looked like before the facelift. Curbed readers from a few months ago had a lot to say about the about-face, including: "Looks like a regular Frank Lloyd WRONG," "This ruins the whole block, like a crooked tooth," and "The new facade zigs when it should zag." And those were the nicer comments. [Harlem Bespoke; previously]
