According to property records spotted by The Real Deal, ex-Mets pitcher Johan Santana just sold his 3BR/3.5BA apartment in 170 East End Avenue for $3.15 million, $10,000 less than he paid in 2008. Considering the team Santana (until recently) played for, though, he should count himself lucky that he didn't accidentally set the apartment on fire and throw all his money into the ocean. (The Mets, right?) Santana first listed the apartment in June of 2012 for $3.875 million, and a series of pricechops brought it down to $3.35 million before the buyer, a "European man who paid all-cash and is looking to rent it out for $14,000 a month," snapped it up for $200,000 less than that. Apparently, Santana used the apartment as a pied-a-terre and never even touched the refrigerator or stove. Guess that virtual golf course didn't get much use either.
