The Lower East Side's endangered Children's Magical Garden has found a celebrity backer: Cynthia Nixon. The actress brought her young son to a Halloween party there, posing near a fence that demarcates the area belonging to developer Serge Hoyda, who cordoned off his third of the property this summer to the cries of neighborhood residents. Last week, probably in preparation for construction, Hoyda also "dispatched a drilling rig to the site, which plowed through the 'meditation herb circle' and other plantings made by neighborhood children."
