The ongoing battle for 5Pointz is likely coming to an end, as a federal judge has refused to stop its demolition. Despite sympathizing with the artists and activists fighting to save the Long Island City graffiti hotspot, Brooklyn judge Frederic Block has declined to file an injunction that would keep the site from being demolished by owners Jerry and David Wolkoff. Block went on to say that he could issue a stay if there was a pending landmarks application, but given the fact that the Landmarks Preservation Commission rejected such a bid in August, this would be highly unlikely.
