DUMBO—Tomorrow, the DUMBO Improvement District and start-up BioLite will launch the DUMBO Firepit, a contained, outdoor, wood-burning fireplace in the Pearl Street Triangle. BioLite makes a camp stove that uses patented thermoelectric technology to convert waste heat into electricity, which will also be on display in the Firepit. TRIBECA—Locals have been fighting the city's plan to move a low-level Criminal Summons Court to 71 Thomas Street in Tribeca, and it appears that they've won. The city has reached an agreement to withdraw its proposal and has promised not to move the court to that building for at least five years.
