One Riverside Park Pulled; Red Hook Opposes Private School

New, 11 comments

UPPER WEST SIDE—Just as soon as the listings for Extell's One Riverside Park had appeared, they were gone again. And now the reason surfaces: they had priced the apartments too low. According to The Real Deal, "70 of the property's 219 units had flown off the shelf in the 10 days since the offering plan had been approved by the Attorney General," and Extell had to pull the units to regroup and come up with a more ambitious pricing strategy. CARROLL GARDENS—Only three of the 11 Sackett Union townhouses remain available, with prices ranging from $3.475 million to $3.68 million. All of the development's 32 condo units sold out within six months of appearing on the market. [CurbedWire Inbox; previously]

RED HOOK—Brooklyn's Community Board 6 voted unanimously to disapprove a Board of Standards and Appeals application to allow a private school to be built at 556 Columbia Street, not currently zoned for school use. The 1,000-seat Basis Independent Brooklyn would cost $23,500 in annual tuition, with no present plans for scholarships for local kids. The Board of Standards and Appeals will now hold a public hearing on the school. [DNAinfo]
